PROJECT 52 # 27 | B I R D
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
No language can express the power, and beauty, and heroism, and majesty of a mother's love. It shrinks not where man cowers, and grows stronger where man faints, and over wastes of worldly fortunes sends the radiance of its quenchless fidelity like a star ~ Edwin Hubbell Chapin
PROJECT 52 - # 12
I was actually taking pictures of the flowers that just started blooming when this fly suddenly landed on the petal, an added bonus! I love a happy coincidence!

BUTTERFLY
Beautiful and graceful, varied and enchanting, small but approachable, butterflies lead you to the sunny side of life. And everyone deserves a little sunshine - Jeffrey Glassberg.
No, this is NOT scorpion for sure. I have never seen this creature before, so I'm kinda curious.
Unlike scorpions, this one moves so slow you hardly notice it moving. But it might bite as deadly as scorpions, who knows? The part I hate most (beside the intimidating physical looks) is when you crush the damn thing, it expels acidic odor. Yuccckkkk...!!!
So, by now, have you figured this one out yet? Let me know!

Finally, the Komodo transfer plan controversy ended. The Forestry Minister of the Republic of Indonesia has decided to postpone the transfer and to set up the team to study the move plan as you can find the news HERE.
AN APPLE A DAY...
EGRET
Egret fishing at Union City Libary's pond was not something I saw everyday, so today was special. I spotted this little guy from the parking lot, so I grabbed my camera and snapped some shots. Thank GOD I had my tele-lens attached to my camera!
TROUBLED SEAGULL
We saw this seagull kept shaking her head as though trying to get something off her beak. We couldn't tell what it was from such a distance, but we sensed the little birdie was in trouble. We tried to help, but [of course], being a bird, she flew away once we approached. She never let us come near her, let alone touch her.
A few seconds later when she landed on a rock reasonably close to where we were, I found my 300mm lens come in handy, so I took a shot [or two] of her, especially aimed her beak. Later that day, at home, I checked on my computer of what had been captured by my camera and found it was a fishing lure that was hooked to the seagull's beak. It really looked hurtful to her.
Poor little bird, I just wish she let us help her! But hopefully she would be able to get it off her beak without hurting herself even more.
MY FIRST BUTTERFLY
It was a beautiful summer day in Bay Area, so we decided to have a little walk in the park. Just as we hiked up the hills, I found this butterfly hanging on a leaf. As I approached, she just stayed right there, not moving at all. I took it as a sign that it was OK to have her pictures taken. Of course I took this opportunity in a heart beat. So, this is my first shot of a butterfly and thankfully I found a willing model! LOL.
WILDLIFE AT GAZOS
Beside offering serenity for a perfect getaway, Gazos Creek is also inhabited by various wildlife. Some of them I had never seen before, such as Bluebelly and newt [of course, that's because they don't live in tropical country like Indonesia]. I really enjoyed having them around while we're there.
Newt
Bluebelly
Banana Slug
Grasshopper
Caterpillar
Ladybug
California Quail
BUSY BEE
I was actually taking pictures of daisy when a bee suddenly landed on the flower that I focused on and started to get 'busy'. Yes, of course, he immediately stole the spotlight and daisy has turned to be the secondary subject!!
